What ages do you work with?
I primarily work with children and teens, generally between the ages of 7 and 17. Because every child is different, age is only one factor in determining whether this type of support is a good fit. If you child falls outside this age range, or you are unsure whether services would be appropraite for them, please book a complimentary consultation to discuss.
Does my child need to be an athlete to work with you?
No. While my practice has a special focus on supporting young athletes, I also work with children and teens who may be struggling with confidence, anxiety, emotional regulation, motivation, self-esteem, relationships, or other challenges.
Why do you focus on Young Athletes?
I focused on young athletes because these are the years when a love of sport is formed, confidence is developing, and lifelong habits begin to take shape. Young athletes are training more intensely and committing more time to sport then ever before, often facing expectations reserved for much older athletes. They may be able to keep up with the physical demands of their sport, while struggling to manage the mental and emotional pressures that come with it. Supporting confidence, resilience, focus, and emotional regulation can help young athletes navigate those demands in a healthier and more sustainable way.
Do you work with parents as well as children?
Yes. I can work with both children and parents, recognizing that meaningful change often happens when the whole family is supported. Parent sessions are not a mandatory part of my practice. If you would like additional support as a parent, or if I feel a parent session may be beneficial as part of your child's work, we can discuss together.
Are sessions virtual or in person?
Sessions are currently offered virtually through Jane App's secure telehealth platform. Using Jane allows appointmetns to be conducted in a private and onfidential manner while supporting my professional privacy and recrod-leeping obligations as a Registered Social Worker.
At this time, I do not offer regular in-person appointments. If there is sufficent demand in the future, I will exloore adding designated in-person office hours.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes long.
How much do sessions cost?
Are your services covered by insurance benefits?
Many extended health benefit plans provide coverage for services delivered by a Registered Social Worker (RSW). Coverage varies by provider and individual plan, so I recommend checking with your insurance company to confirm whether social work services are included and what documentation may be required.
Receipts will be provided following each session for you to submit to your insurance provider. Please note paymnet is due at the time of appointment, and direct billing is not currently available.
